fredpenr Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Hi, Has anyone interfaced the serial port on a 90-30 to a X10 setup inorder to control x10 devices from the PLC? Any information would help. Right now I have a "X10 PRO Powerflash Interface PSC01" for outputs and UM506 for inputs. This gets to be quite expensive and takes up lots of room on the wall. Thanks. RussB Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 (edited) No I have not done this but it is not much different from reading a BC scanner , scale, or gauge, which I have done. X10 does not support the SNP protocol, AFAIK it is ASCII only. You can do this with a PCM301 and MegaBASIC, or use one of the VersaMax PLCs. Any VM port can be configured to send ASCII data out the port. A VersaMax Micro or Nano would work. Edited October 25, 2006 by RussB Quote
