Devicenet Explicit Messaging

Hello all, I'm new to explicit messaging. I can't seem to find much documentation on the web about it. Does anyone know of any sites or pdf's that explain the diffences between the services, classes, and instances - and explanations of what each is actually used for? I get most of the services, it's pretty self explanatory - I think - but the Class and Instance fields are somewhat more difficult. I'm using devicenet and the program is SST Devicenet Configuration. I appreciate any help.
