robh Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 Does anybody have a good source for prefabricated control rooms? I have been web searching but was curious if anybody had any preferences. Thanks Quote
TimWilborne Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 How sealed to you need it. Are you looking for something with windows all around it or...? Quote
Ken Moore Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 If I were installing a new control room, I would get one with raised floors. That way you can run all you wiring under the floor, very neat, and easy to access. Quote
BobLfoot Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 I concur with the raised floors. I've seen these before but can't recall the vendor information If I can find it in my history folder I'll post the info. Quote
robh Posted November 22, 2006 Author Report Posted November 22, 2006 Cool. The raised floor sounds like a good idea. I would like to have it sealed enough to keep the temp and humidity appropriate for PC and plc living quarters. Possibly making a mcc room as well. It would be in our East Texas facility, so anybody who has been there knows what I am up against! Quote
mfkuss Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 We have been using pre-fabbed buildings from a company called Speed Space. They work out really great. We mount strut on the walls to hang VFD's, and mount all of our control panels and switchgear inside too. Comes with a nice Bard HVAC unit. Not really sure on what costs were, but they were very easy to work with. www.speedspace.org Quote
BobLfoot Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 DOn't foget that the NEC now has Arc Flash approach distances to pay attention to in MCC rooms. Dividing the room into halves with MCC one side and PLC /PC the other might be usefull. Quote
robh Posted November 22, 2006 Author Report Posted November 22, 2006 Good point Bob, we also have to consider fire suppresion. Quote
