BobLfoot Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 Know this is a little off the path of PLC's, but ran into a dust collector unit last night needing service which had a major mold contamination issue. Workmen were uncomfortable with proceeding to work until the mold was addressed. A quick visit to Osha Website revealed the following wealth of Listings. First Waded thruough this thesis which interestingly implies that there is no direct law only the "General Duty Clause" and the concept of an "Unsafe Workplace" when it comes to mold. Next Came across this more close to point listing of topics. And finally the EPA weighed in with guidelines for mold cleanup in public buildings. Any one else had to deal with this issue. What approach does your company take? I will say we held off work for now, called a qualified outside contractor for cleanup and asked our safety officer to generate some corporate policy ASAP. Quote
Ken Moore Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 So far, we have been lucky, only one mold incident. Our policy is to secure the area, and call in a qualified outside firm that specializes in mold remediation. Quote
