Chris Elston Posted December 12, 2006 Report Posted December 12, 2006 I just spent the last thirty minutes wondering why my GE Globalcare login wouldn't work. I reset my password, asked for my user ID again. Everything looked great. I even reset my password and it said it was changed TWICE. But everytime I logged in, it gave me an error that said my user name or password was incorrect...all I kept getting was this error: You entered an invalid User ID or Password. Finally I remembered having a problem with GE seibel system with FireFox. I fired up Internet Explorer and went to globalcare, and what do you know...my log in works...first try. That is just plain aggravating...if GE knows that FireFox won't work with globalcare login, why don't you post a MESSAGE: WARNING: This site does not work with FireBox browsers! Instead of me wasting 1/2 an hour trying to figure out why my login won't work just to download a SIM pack? I don't care that it works or don't work with Firefox, but at least fess-up to it and post a message, "Yeah we are sorry that our system doesn't work with a FireFox." Rant over.... Quote
JRoss Posted December 12, 2006 Report Posted December 12, 2006 Definitely check out the IE Tab extension for Firefox. Fortunately, there are fewer and fewer websites that won't work on Firefox, but this extension is terrific for those that won't. Not that this directly addresses your complaint. It still would have taken a half-hour to figure out the issue. Just that you wouldn't have had to open another program! Quote
Chris Elston Posted December 12, 2006 Author Report Posted December 12, 2006 Also...that worked. I went to GE Globalcare, user name or password failed. Click to switch to IE engine, logged in again, and it worked like a champ. I didn't have to start up IE. Excellent. Quote
RussB Posted December 12, 2006 Report Posted December 12, 2006 Sorry, for your problems but GE/GE Fanuc have told us from day 1 that they support IE only and only at specified version levels with Seibel and their web site. Anything else that works is coincidental or purposly by the SW developer. GE is about to re-design so now is a good time to get your $.02 in. I use Maxthon.com it is based on IE so it has never been a problem. I know this does not appease those with MSphobea, but it does what I want. Quote
Chris Elston Posted December 12, 2006 Author Report Posted December 12, 2006 Russ, that FireFox extension above by Ross, works like a champ so far. Quote
JRoss Posted December 12, 2006 Report Posted December 12, 2006 No problem! I always encourage more use of Firefox... Quote
