Hy, I have a 45MLA-CTRL-CAN Light Array controller from Rockwell. It uses Canbus protocol. I can not find the EDS file for this controller anywhere on the internet. I checked PCDC site as well. Without the EDS file, I can not integrate this light array controller to my project. Thank you all!

Hello We are developing our own EtherNet/IP device (Relay). We have the stack running and all Implicit and Explicit messages work well. My question is on the EDS file and the data types: I’m trying to get the input and output tags of Class 1 messages (Allen Bradley 1769-L16ER-BB1B in Studio 5000) to match the data type, stipulated in the EDS file. Seems like I can't paste images here, I will try to explain from my EDS and Studio 5000. In my EDS, Connection Manager - Exclusive Owner D, T->O Format refers to Assembly4. Assembly 4 refers to Parameter 1. Parameter 1 has a Data Type of UINT (0 - 65535). Then I Imported this EDS into Studio 5000. I select Connection Manager - Exclusive owner D. Then I can choose between SINT and INT, both of these data types are signed. How do I change the EDS file so that Studio 5000 will ONLY give me UNIT as an option? Help will be appreciated. Hello Everybody I have started an EIP communication between a Mitsubishi IQR plc and a Zebra ZT610. For this I use a RJ71EIP91 card for MITSUBISHI. And on the Zebra side I had the "Network Connect" driver installed. In the RJ71EIP91 card I put the ESD file. (attention I was obliged to modify this one and to put the communication in "point to point" (before it was multicast) I have a closed network (Zebra, PLC, PC) It works. I can print labels with tags that evolve in the PLC. The problem is that when I turn off the printer I have a lot of trouble reconnecting it to the PLC. When I run a slave scan with the "RJ71EIP91 TOOL" software, it no longer sees the printer, although I can ping it from this software and I can see it clearly. To regain communication I have to reset the zebra, or initialise the network parameters, or initialise with the factory parameters. It's really strange. I can't figure out what is making me regain communication. If I switch off the PLC or unplug the RJ45s and leave the Zebra switched on, I don't lose communication. Do you have any ideas to help me understand my problem? Thank you all for your help. Renaud

Hi I am new in Omron, most of time I spend with Siemens products so that's why I shyly want to ask about communication over EthernetIP in the case of PLC Omron. I am working with not my machine with PLC NJ301-1100 where are 3 axes on EtherCat, no nodes on Ethernet/IP, only HMI NA5. Primary task with cycle 500us (and additional periodic task 10ms but it is not important). I want to add Cognex scaner on EthernetIP. I use SysmacStudio. In first step I add EDS file and two structures IN (80bytes)/OUT(80bytes) to PLC, no algorythms. After downloading changes to machine in a while it stops with PRIMARY TASK TIMEOUT. With original program the task execution is ave 394us, max 467us. For NJ301 adding 160bytes is additional around 100us to communication cycle. Is that cycle part of each task (primary and others) or it is parallel proces? I am little confused. Additional communication time is 160*0,0015 + 160*0,56 + 2,15 + 7,5 = 99,49us. Am I correct? And this is the problem, I am out of the range of WatchDog? For now I didnt add any algorythms. In the future I will add new periodic task to PLC and this new InOuts will not be used in primary task. Thank You for any advice. ps I have found option for my inputs/outputs REGISTER TO SETTINGS FOR EXCLUSIVE CONTROL OF VARIABLES IN TASK. I created and chose new periodic task for them. Will it helps? I won't be able to check it until Monday so if You have any advices I will be gratefull ;) Best regars!

Hi All, I am working on a project using and NJ101 to communicate via CIP Ethernet to a PC based vision system. The vendor that makes the vision software has previously only worked with Allan Bradley PLC's and only knows how to setup communication using the Generic Ethernet Bridge. From what I can see this Generic Ethernet Bridge is essentially a generic EDS file that you are adding some parameters to (Input Instance, Output Instance, Configuration Instance) and it takes care of the setup. Is there any way to do this with Omron Sysmac Studio or Network Configurator? I have had some success CIPOpen, CIPSend, CIPClose function blocks but it is pretty clunky, I would prefer to have something more cyclic running in the background more like a standard Ethernet IP device.

Hi, Does anyone know where to get EDS files for GX Works3 ? I can't open a file that I need to access because it has an "Unsupported Module". The module is 007ER-1FL2-T, it shows up on the Mitsubishi website but I cannot see any links to EDS files or any software related to this module. Cheers, Olly

Hey all - I am stumped and looking for some assistance. I have a project in studio 5000, v.32 where I have some ABB drives that are not recognized. I've installed the EDS files, exact same one my co-worker besides me did, and mine will not go recognized and it is driving me crazy! I've done it while online with the PLC and offline, still to no avail. I've also installed the EDS files by going through Tools>EDS Hardware Installation and by right-clicking on the ABB drive in the controller organization tree and registering EDS file. Thanks for any assistance, -k

Hi all, I've ran into an unusual situation where I could use some suggestions. I have an AB PLC working in the field, and an existing fixture that needs to be transferred from an Omron PLC into our AB. I have an integrator who did some offline development with a welder that uses Anybus communication. He sent a .ACD file to implement the logic from. The file has an Ethernet module configured but more importantly, it's showing EDS not registered. I've asked for the EDS he used, and none of them work when trying to register it via right-click and register. I can export the module, but it won't import into the current PLC program because there's no EDS (shows EDS error after the import). If I try to take the program that was sent to me online with the PLC, it will automatically upload and overwrite the build. I can't even open the properties of the module to see what the integrator did. The end goal is to have the offline developed module implemented into the current program, but it seems like everything I've tried to do has me against a wall. Is there a way to go online without uploading? Maybe there's a way to implement this I haven't learned yet? Any suggestions would be much appreciated, and if more information is needed, I'll be glad to provide it. Hey everyone, I seem to have gotten myself into a whopper of a problem at work. I am trying to register an EDS file in Studio 5000 ver. 30. The EDS file is from Bihl-Wiedemann for an ASi Gateway device. In Studio I am going to Tools, then EDS Hardware Installation Tool, then I drill down to where I have the EDS file saved, select it and click Next, Next. Then I get the message at the end saying You have successfully completed the EDS Wizard, and there are no errors in the error box. Great! Except now when I go to the Ethernet Tree and attempt to add this device, There are no Bihl-Wiedemann devices available. I have also tried this with an IO-Link device from Turck, same result. Rockwell tech support had me Uninstall all versions of RSLogix and Studio and then reinstall just ver. 30. Did that, same result. Anybody have any great ideas for me to try?

Modular .eds file in Logix Designer 24.00

For years I have successfully used modular eds files for devices with assembly sizes that can change. Recently I upgraded to Studio 5000 version 24, and I have run into a snag. When I try to change the size of the assembly (as shown below) I cannot leave the data entry field (circled in red) without hitting <ESC>, and the size change is lost. A colleague of mine does not have this problem in version 27 of Studio 5000. Is this a known issue with version 24? In this particular case, I am trying to use the attached eds file. Has anyone had experience communicating with a Fanuc robot controller via EIP? Looking to communicate with the following robot controller. Typically need an EDS file to import to talk to 3rd party devices.Have not found one yet. Looking to communicate with the powermotion i Model A series, A02B-0323-J147 Ethernet I/P boards. Thanks in advance.
