Hello, today I had a fault on a PLC, luckily, I was able to clear it and we could start production back up, however now I'm worried it may happen again and shut us back down. I am fairly new to PLCs and have only been working with them for a little over a month. I took a picture of the fault before I cleared it(see below). What would be the cause of the fault below and should I be worried about it reoccurring? Thanks

Hi there! I've been looking for some fault codes table for the 1734-AENTR adapters, since I'd like to show a message in HMI with some information when there is a faulty adapter, but I haven't found anything on the internet. So my question is, is there any type of table like this for these adapters? Right now I have a PLC with some AENTR adapters in the program for testing, and since there is actually no adapter connected to it, I can see a 16#2024 error in the module properties, but can't seem to find that info in the module variables. Do you guys have any clue on how to find this information in order to show it? Thanks in advance!

Hi All, Please see attached screenshot: Whenever I want to save the ladder program or start simulation, this window pops-up. If I press 'yes' I loose the whole work. I tried to open existing program and modify it, but it did the same. When I clicked 'yes' I lost all modification and just the original program remained. (I made the program in the morning, opened and saved many times but it started popping this window later.) I work with FXCPU series, FX3U/FX3UC type, simple project in ladder. This worked well but now is not anymore. I use Melsoft GX Simulator! Can anyone advise why this is happening? It is very annoying! It is pointless to work on anything now! Many thanks

I have a compact logix with a major fault. Please see my attached file for the complete fault message. Code 20 array subscript too large. or control data type to large or invalid. Has anyone observed this issue before. The PLC is a compact logix model. Every time, the controller is switched from program to run the major fault occurs within 5 seconds. The fault can be cleared but then it comes back in a few seconds. I have been told by my tech that no program changes have been made. Could there be a hardware/wiring issue? Thanks much Document_1234.pdf

Has anyone had an issue with Siemens plc's occasionally going out of run mode? I was doing some research and found that it could be due to a bad analog input. Is there a way to tell which input or output is causing this fault? I know I can create a hardware diagnostics error organization block but that only correct from what I've read. Edit: I've added a screen shot of the diagnostics report. The fault that may be the problem is: Temporary CPU error: Serious firmware exception CPU changes to DEFECTIVE mode (system reaction) This plc / system was installed 2 year ago and we've had this problem occasionally since. I'm guessing the wrong firmware was used during the install. Will try upgrading firmware this weekend.

Hi I'm a bit new to Siemens, we;re an Allen Bradley plant...until now. we just got a brand new used press and it has a seimens controller on it. The press doesn't seem to have any manual functions so I as asked to move the cylinder, but I can't until I clear this fault. it won't do anything. I'm told I'm working with an older processor, s7 300?I don't really know seimens that well. I saved the diagnostics buffer as a text file and pasted it below. in case that helps solve my problem. I'm thinking it's just having trouble communicating with remote IO, but I'm not sure. I might be trying to communicate to a robot that used to be there that no longer is. Hi, Can someone provide information about function and interpretation of each flashing or steady LEDs on MLC 1200. For example where to look for when Fault LED flashes during normal operation and so on. Thanks in anticipation that someone will help. Regards

Trying to figure out a fix to a processor issue, I have 2 1785-L40E processors a series E and F. Both when inserted into the rack and powered up go straight to a solid red BATT and PROC light as well as a Solid amber Force light, they both wont even attempt to start a boot up sequence. When connected through DH+ and ENET there is no visibility to either of these processors. These are refurbished processors.

Need a little help here - I am trying to re-purpose some old hardware. I have 2 old SLC5/04 B processors (+15 yrs?), that are giving me the same problem. After a power cycle, they boot to a solid fault light - no comms. Cycling the keyswitch has no effect. Popping the processor from the rack and reseating it, powers up in a default state - it will not reload automatically from the EEPROM (when I establish comms, I can reload from the EEPROM or download the program from RSLogix). I can't read the processor fault. The battery is good. The rack was scavenged, I have no idea its history. Also in the 4-slot rack are DI, DO and RIO Scanner cards. I would consider my self a competent programmer, but no A-B expert. Any ideas here would be appreciated.

Im having some trouble with a PLC and looking for a some help. Whats happening is output number 3 is stuck on. I thought maybe it was just the PLC. I pulled the program tried it on a new PLC with no luck. I checked for faults and the handheld shows no major faults. The output that is stuck on is for a door, its telling it that the door is open. Any help would be great.

Hi im quite new to Siemens programing. I got a issue that iwe been stuck with for a while now when im programing in Graph. When a supervision_fault happens the sequence is locked until I press ACK_EF and the transition is fullfilled. Then the sequence continues right on. What I want is that if ACK_EF is pressed the supervision fault will be cleared and the sequence remains paused until I press "Startbutton" again. I´ve tried Halt_SQ when the FAULT is triggered but I cant seem to get the FAULT down when I ACK. Also tried to switching it over to manual then ACK the fault. But that didnt work for me either. Hope there is someone that could help me with this :) It would be much appreciated!
