  1. I currently have two NX1P2 PLCs communicating back and forth over ethernet IP. However, I am looking to expand this project across multiple PLCs and I need a way for one PLC to see all other PLCs that are connected to the LAN network via Ethernet IP. I can use the _EIP_EstbTargetSta[255] function which is a boolean value that returns true if there is an established connection to a device where the last octet of the IP is specified in the array [255]. This function works well but my PLCs are configured with the subnet 255.255.0.0. And I need to see the connection status based on the third octet. Is there an existing function that I can use, or is there a way to view the full structured text for the _EIP_EstbTargetSta[255] function and modify it to suite my specific application?
  2. I have a micrologix 1100 PLC as well as a weintek HMI all connected through a network switch for them to communicate between each other, however I'm having an issue where the Micrologix Controller will not retain its IP address once I set it through Allen Bradleys BootP tool. I can set it through the tool and then go into RSlogix 500 and communicate with it and all that, but once the controller is turned off the IP address goes back to its factory setting of not showing an IP at all. Any suggestions/ ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?
  3. I am trying to get produced and consumed tags set up between 2 1756 racks with different ip's. The 1st rack has an ip address 172.28.6.3. The 2nd rack has an ip address of 10.81.105.8. Would this be as simple as adding an EN2T card to one of the racks and setting the ip of one onto the same network? Or is there a better way to do this?
  4. Ok guys, this is more a networking question involving a Stratix 5700 managed switch and 5 machines. The five machines all have set IP addresses from the OEM that cannot be changed. The manufacturer has them set in the program to maintain that IP ,so if it sees the IP change it will change it back. With that being said all Five machines have the exact same IP configuration and I cannot change it without contacting the manufacturer and getting them to change it or sell me the program so i can change it. both options will costs entirely too much in my opinion. With that being said my only goal is to read tags from the PLC on each machine. Is there anyway to set each port on that Stratix switch where i can communicate with each machine individually without causing them to have IP address conflicts with the other machines that have the same IP address. I hope I explained my question well enough. Thank you in advance for any help on this issue.
  5. Hi I want to set ethernet/IP network with CJ2M and 3 posital fraba encoders. I have problem to find out a way to set unique IP for encoders with MAC. Posital has example for AB something like BOOTP/DHCP from RSNetWorx. How I can do it in Omron software?
  6. I need to run 4 exactly same devices with 4 different controllers. The logic for them would be exactly the same but the IPs and controller names would be different. Is there a way to do it using 1 project file? Basically whenever download is done the logic would be downloaded but the controller name/IP would be left unchanged. They will be connected to the same network so the IPs must be different. I am using 1769-L32E for these and all racks are set up exactly the same. Any ideas?
  7. hallo all again, is there some way to change external IP (target one) using ENET-502 card without reinit via sending 1 to BFM1600? I would really appreciate it (time savings) but from little what i know it seems impossible :( thanks in advance
  8. I am trying to get the communication going between EZ3 EZAutomation Panel HMI and Omron NJ501-1300 PLC. I am currently using Modbus TCP/IP as a protocol. Has anybody figured out a way to do that? Or is there a better way to do this communication between HMI and PLC ? Right now I am using MTCP_Client_Connect function block to connect with HMI but it dont seem to be working. The IP address is correct along with Port no. I am still fuzzy about the Station address of NJ and the function code of the NJ for Modbus purposes. If anybody could help me out I would really appreciate it.
  9. Hi everyone ! I have a little project wich involves communication between two Micro820 controllers via TCP/IP. To do that, I started to work with TCP/IP socket. Within CCW (Connected Components Workbench), I tried to create a new socket instance using the instruction SOCKET_CREATE and set the socket address to 127.0.0.1:21. Basically, my computer through the FTP port. The problem was that it couldn't create a new socket instance (error variable is set to TRUE and status is set to 4, wich I don't know the meaning) because I didn't have a server-side application that listens to TCP/IP socket requests. That said, I found an open source application called SocketTest that listens for TCP/IP socket requests on a specified IP address and port. So, I started a listener on the following address : 127.0.0.1:21, but the error variable is still set to TRUE and status is still set to 4. So, my questions are : Is my IP address OK ? Is my port number OK ? What means the status code 4 ? Is SocketTest doing what I think it does ? Do I need to do something else before using the SOCKET_CREATE instruction ? Thank you in advance for your help !
  10. Hello, I have to work now with a cj1m cpu11. I would like to connect it to a ns10 display. My first obvious problem is when i made the project in cx programmer, that unlike in cj2m i wasnt able to select the cpu unit in the IO table and set the ip adress. How do i need to set the ip address? im reading an omron guide, but it is confusing, and so long, i only want to set the ip address :/. Also how can i set the fins network to 2? On the cx-designer i set the network address:2 and the node adress:40. I know that the 40 means the end of ip address. Thats why i want to set the plc. How about the network address 2? Help is much appreciated. Thanks!
  11. Using Omron CP1L-EL with tcp/ip connection to printer device. im want to use signal for communication establish. its available for omron plc. already test A313.00 and A315.10 but not work. im using TCP-IP Active open port.
  12. Hi all, Quick question about adding ENET modules to a plc. If I have a local network of a HMI, PLC and 1 device all on IP 192.168.255.x and I have another device across the plant with an address of 171.27.19.x, can I add that one device to the PLC and it will recognize it? Is there a way to add a device with a totally different IP address to a PLC that is already set up?
