  1. Hi there guys I am using modbus as server and having the issue that i cant use multiple outputs simultaneously if I want to use coils as outputs I have to put the value of outputs in auto refresh of modbus and if i have to use data registers then i have to use data registers in auto refresh, but simultaneously i cant use both in auto refresh because the auto refresh won,t allow as I am using modbus QJ71MT91. I can see the outputs changing in device buffer that obviously because of the default values of the ladder code but I want to see all of this in modsim32 and want simultaneous outputs coils and holding registers to be seen. These are the IP addresses: plc CPU: 192.168.1.30modbus:192.168.1.235pc:192.168.1.240 (I have set the ipv4 settings with ip address that i wrote subnet mask:255.255.255.0 and default gateway: 192.168.1.1)local network: 192.168.1.1 I have created a ladder logic for tank filling station that is as follows What my ladder code does is that if i turn on input y80 then y100 output that is filling tank turns on and the timer for 100 sec is stored in data register D100 and if input y81 is turned on the output y101 is turned on that is discharging of tank and the timer for 100 sec is stored in D101. These are the Auto communication parameters I have set for the ladder logic code And in order to see the outputs of either coils or data registers working these are the following parameters for auto refresh For coils for registers Can you guys tell me how i can use both simultaneously?? and see the timer value and coil output both at the same time in modsim32? Or in general how can i use multiple outputs at the same time using modbus as server???
  2. A new development is proposed - a Server-client for remote control of controllers OMRON (CS1,CJ1,CJ2,. CPL,. NJ...) - Sasha_Server_Dz.exe and Sasha_Client_Dz.exe. The app is designed for the following technologies: - IoT; - Remote control; - Remote diagnostics. - Start-up and adjustment works on the object, when the Adjuster must be away from the control cabinets of the object; - Issuing technological tasks to different objects (PLC) from the same technological center; - Generating relevant information about the object for service personnel and company management. The server is implemented on a Central computer that can communicate with client-computers either via a local network or via WI-FI. Client-computers exchange information with the PLC via the following interfaces: - USB; - Ethernet/IP; - Ethernet; - RS232/485; Client-computers also provide information exchange with Android smartphones via the Internet(MQTT) from any point where an Internet connection is made, while client-computers can work both independently (without connecting to the Central server) and together with the Central server. You can connect up to 128 clients to a single server. For a description of an Android program for exchanging information between a client and an Android smartphone, see www.mrplc.com-omron-download-utilite-Omron_Control. The development of this software is based on the use of program functions and packages CXServer (OMRON). in the basic version of this program, the Central server, client-computers and Android smartphones can read and write words and bits of the entire PLC memory. In the extended version of the program, you can implement the following modes:: - Quick adjustment of the value of the variable – word memory controller, in real time; - Quick adjustment of the variable value-memory bit controller, in real time; - Installing and working with controller bit objects (installation is performed once when you first log in to The program and further may not change); - Work with word bits - read / write graphic displaying word bits-similar to the SwitchBox program (OMRON), in real time; - Display of variables accepted in the loop in a separate Memo in real time, with the ability to record content of Memo in the file and fetching the contents of a file in Memo. - Display of 6 variables on the indicator Board with the ability to generate color signals if the values variables go beyond the required limits in real time time scale; - Generating waveforms of 6 variables in real time time scale. Period time =0.5...1 sec; - Formation of static graphs of 6 variables in real-time . Period time =0.5...1 sec. Recording time-up to 4 hours. Obviously, the specified program can be expanded and changed to meet the specific requirements of a particular Customer. If you are interested in using or upgrading the program, you can contact its author, Alexander Ryss, Dr.-eng., by E-mail : ab.ryss@yandex.ru
  3. Good day all, I'm going to get a new Siemens PLC (model haven't decide) for a project using OPCUA server. I'm curious to know whether I made the right choice or not? Cause I planning to use that PLC to process some data that it got from OPCUA server. Can I know whether I can directly use Ethernet connection to take the data from server directly and fed it into my Siemens PLC? (I probably won't use the DI of the PLC for input data)
  4. Hello, I need to connect remotely to an OPC Server DA. In my PC I have installed several OPC Clients but when I try to connect to the server (therefore located on another machine) I get an "access denied" error. How can I authorize the exchange of information between the 2 machines? Thanks
  5. We have been having a re-occurring issue where some of our PLC's throughout our plant have a network outage that occurs around the same time every night. The PLC's are disbursed among the plant and it has been confirmed no large pieces of equipment are being turned on around this time every night... The network traffic does not fluctuate around this time and is not near a "troubling" level. There was a reboot to one of our servers on the same VLAN as the PLC's that are having the connectivity issues... What could have changed from a server reboot to remedy this issue, the server is not communicating to the PLC's, they are just on the same VLAN.

  7. In general, this control PLC program is written in GX Works. I did a simple visualization on TIA Portal v14 (WinCC RT Advanced) and I would like to now test it on Mitsubishi FX3U driver with ENET Module. I do not have much experience in this kind of thing, I'm still learning. I know that someone previously made a visualization in LabView and downloaded the tags from the PLC using NI OPC Server. Someone also did visualization in iFix and also downloaded tags through server opc. I do not know just how or what program to download tags in PLC so that I can no longer use it in visualization in TIA Portal. Unfortunately I still have a connection problem. The driver is connected to the router. From the connection options with RT Advanced I chose in the connections tab Mitsubishi and entered the appropriate IP. Still nothing. I do not know if the lack of a connection can be related to a virtual machine (VM Vare Workstation 12) on which I have TIA Portal installed. The driver pings but can not connect. I also tried using KEPServer EX to connect and unfortunately also failed. (I have information about the can not connect). Anyone know what program I should use? or had contact with such a problem? I attach a photo of communication from my station to more visualize the problem. Thanks
  8. Hi, I was wondering if anyone have experience with Tia Portal Step7 v.14 and Step7 Classic v.5.5 located on a remote server? We have several persons working on our PLC's. As it is they all have their own PC with Step7 + licenses. We were thinking about moving the software environment onto a server to reduce license and maintenance costs. Does anyone else have this setup? If yes do you have any tips or comments? Pros/cons? I already know now that you cannot autodetect/configure new devices from a remote server as the Step7 detection protocol doesn't work through a router. We can live with that. We need both TIA Portal and the Step7 Classic on the same server. Thanks
  9. So here's the problem I'm facing. I've recently started working for a company that has two facilities. They have lots of old equipment/PLCs, plus some new stuff. We undertook a project to upgrade the network infrastructure, and replace all the old programming terminals (Some had Windows 2000!) with a new standardized programming terminal, all sharing a common image. We've installed these new computers, and they were working great. Recently, we switched all the licensing to a Hyper-V based server, using FactoryTalk Activation Manager. Right off the hop, there was issues with one of the sites (let's call it site B). Site A is working fine. When you open FactoryTalk Activation manager, it populates the activations from the server in about 1s. The wait times for opening software are pretty normal (For RSLogix 5000, "normal" isn't exactly rapid, but like I said, that's normal). For Site B, the activations take forever to refresh in Activation Manager when opened on a programming terminal. The software takes even longer to open (we're talking about 2-3 minutes). Network wise, Site B is further along than Site A. We've implemented a Stratix layer 3 switch at the top of the network and use area specific VLANs to reduce multicast noise across the network (much of the multicast noise comes from vendor equipment, not PLCs, so I can't control it). This works fine. I can remote in and use TeamViewer/VNC with acceptable performance across the network, so it's not being bogged down to unacceptable levels. However, connection to the activation server is unacceptable. I'm not sure of the culprit (yet). We are continuing network improvements, removing some older 10/100 links and installing Gigabit equipment between the Hyper-V server and the above mentioned Stratix, hopefully that might help. However, that same 10/100 link is the one I use to remote in and use Teamviewer currently, so I can't see how much improvement it will give us for activations (which really should take almost no network traffic). To get activations, I'm just adding the IP address of the Activation Server into FTActivation Manager on the programming terminals. Any ideas, people? Thanks
