  1. Hello everyone! I have problem with understanding the usage/principle of operation of parameter "Mark detection number". In manual i read: "The number of mark detections is stored. "0" clear is executed at power supply ON. Continuous detection mode: 0 to 65535 (Ring counter) Specified number of detection mode: 0 to 32 Ring buffer mode: 0 to (number of buffers - 1) Refresh cycle: At mark detection" My question is which mark detections are stored? Servo detects some kind of marks? I am novice in servo programming, please explain in the easiest way. Thanks for help.
  2. Hello, I am using the R88M-1M40030T-BS2 ( 200V 3ph) servo motor. I am looking for a diagram that explains the connections on the top of motor ( for power supply).. there are more than 3 pins and i am not sure why. Can anyone help me understand the pins on the motor for the 3ph supply? Thank you
  3. Posted 22 July · Report post Dear Friends, I want to set my servo controller overload setting as per my machine load requirement since all my servo installed in my machine over travelling and hitting trying to run continuously which is resulting servo failures ,repeated timing belt cut issues.Kindly help me resolve this issue.since i am not familiar with servo controllers.Model used A5 II minas servo MADKT 1507 and contol mode in position control setting.
  4. Hi, I am trying to do a merge move on 1S Servo. The condition are as follows: Task: Move 2 in(absolute value) and then Move back to 1 in (absolute value). I have to do this move 10 times in a row. The application is material leveling after dumping in the mold. The only question i have is if I use just MC_MoveAbsolute command, the only buffer mode for transition available is velocity. Is there a way i can do it with position. I dont want to stop when I can go from 1 to 2 and 2 to 1 again and again. Its time consuming. But rather a nice oscillation motion without stopping to mimic leveling. Can anybody please help me out with this problem. Thanks
  5. Hi, I'm trying to set up PLC (CJ1G) to control servo motor. I'm using position control unit CJ1W-NC413, servo relay unit XW2B-40J6-2B and smartstep R7D-AP02H servo drive. I'm reading through manuals and feels little overwhelmed with information. Everything is probably there, but it's going to take lot of effort to put it together. Can I found example program somewhere? EDIT: When I put jumper to pin 25 (X axis RUN), motor shaft is locked and motor is holding position, so wiring should be correct. When I try to run a program, I can see that parameters are changing in CX-position, but servo is not moving. Please see attached picture
  6. Hello everybody, I have a question about homing servo motors. I have a project with new servos from Omron and I would like to know what is the best way to do homing for the servos and how often. Before when we have servos with encoders I was making special homing sequence and was calling by some event. I heard that new servos from Omron pretty smart and remember own position without batteries. So with this 'new generation' of servos what is the key to keep machine robust, easy for motor replacement without useless programming stuff. Regards, Scotty
  7. I am trying to connect a Delta ASDA-A2 Servo internal motor encoder to a Delta DVP28SV high speed counter input. I was successful in connecting the servo to the plc on position mode with an external encoder connected to PLC high speed counter. Currently having trouble in finding the correct wiring between the servo drive and the plc to count the pulses from the internal motor encoder. Attached are some figures from the servo drive manual. OA --> X0 is obvious, tried s/s to GND, COM-, VCC and VDD... no result. Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.
  8. Hi Guys! I have a problem with Motion axis move (MAM) command. There is an Allen bradley servo motor what is working well. But I need to add a new program section, wich is in a specified moment, the axis should move a certain distance. I think I need to use the mam command, just I dont know how can I configure the motion control part. I need to make a new tag ? or what ? I need to use a user define ? PLS help me.

  10. Hello, I have a cp1h-y20dt-d (sinking output) plc supposedly to be wired to a servo controller. The pulse control method is Pulse/Direction. I've did some manual research on the PLC and found the following diagram attached Untitled. Since the diagram above doesnt show which terminals does it connect to in the CP1H side circled red, I want to ask if those connections belong to the following diagram attached Untitled1? If so, assuming im planning to use only Pulse Output1 (Pulse/Direction method) from the PLC side, is the connection from the first diagram no.1=CCW0- , no.2=CCW1- , no.3=COM (connected to -ve) *Note: these diagrams are from omron's manual SYSMAC CP Series CP1H-X40D_-_ CP1H-XA40D_-_ CP1H-Y20DT-D CP1H CPU Unit Your replies would greatly help. Thanks and best regards, Summer
  11. Hello everyone, Is there any way to communicate with Mitsubishi Servo amplifier MR-J2S-350CP through RS232 ,I prefer to use 224XP because i already have it... thank you
  12. I know it may sound stupid but I am new with Studio 5000 and trying to build a project where I have to home my servo drive other than the position to zero and it is not fix but rather decided by a safety switch. What I am looking for is a dynamic Home position Entry which I am able to find it in the axis parameter but not in the CIP_Structure. Is any kind of motion FB for home position set entry? Any help would be useful. Thanks PS: Studio 5000 v30, Kinetex 5500 v7.01, L33ERM processor
  13. Looking for some servo application help. Software: I have GX works 2, GT Designer, and GX Developer. Hardware: PLC L06CPU-P, GOT2000 HMI, MR-J4-350B servo amps, HG-JR35JK motors, LD77MS2 Pulser I have (2) AC servos that will simply move an aluminum frame backwards and forwards using a FESTO belt mover and I have a servo gear reducer 20:1. I have a "simple motion module"and all of this hardware and software, plenty of time, and would really like to finish this project off. But this is my first servo and my first hmi project. I have some experience with Omron, Mitsubishi, and Allen-Bradley plc's, and consider myself novice at best. Any sample programs or help getting me started would be greatly appreciated!
  14. Hi, I have begun to look into some positioning equipment we have had for a while. There is a CQM1 CPU51 connected to R88D-U series servo drives, and a CS1 with C200HW-NC113 and a R88D-U. I have found WinMon on myomron, but not tried to install it yet, will it run at all on a Win7 machine or do I have to dig out some older PC? Same with the NC unit, there is mentioned a SYSMAC-NCT program in the manual, but I have not been able to find this anywhere, Is this still a commercial item? Are there any newer software that will communicate with these old units? If we decide to upgrade any of this, will we have to replace all, or is it possible to reuse the servomotors or other parts? This is all for educational purposes, no production or safety issues involved. I would of course like my students to work with the most updated systems, but unfortunately we are on a limited budget :( Geir

  17. Hello All, I'm in the process of tuning a motor and I understand almost everything that is happening. The only thing that doesn't really make sense is how frequency relates to the speed of the motor. For instance, let's say my 3db point is at 100 Hz. I understand that from 0 to 100 Hz my motor is stable. If I have a 3000 RPM motor, how does 0 to 100 Hz relate to the maximum speed I can run the motor and still have precise positioning. Thank you
  18. Hi guys, been using this site for a long time, it has come in handy alot. However I have recently taken on my first servo project, heres an overview of the project We have a filling machine that has a separate dosing system to the filler head. It used to keep the dosing in time by adjusting a 0-10v signal to an inverter to make sure that a flag makes a sensor in a set window. I have installed an encoder on the filling head and an mpl servo to the dosing. I have then used an MAPC instruction to follow the encoder, the cam is 0-360 and it follows a straight linear line. I have installed of this as a temporary set up on one of the filling machines (we have 2) and it is working perfectly. I have now installed this on the second machine as a permanent set up with a panelview plus 7, L71 cpu. However it is giving a very strange problem on first power up, the encoder is giving the exact same position as before it was powered down. however as soon as the MAPC executes the servo axis faults, giving an overspeed fault. the servo doesnt even look like its attempting to move (however it is through a 10-1 gearbox). if i then home the encoder it then runs absolutely perfectly until it is powered down again. I am beginning to think it may be to do with the master lock and cam lock position, as the cycle stop position of the two machines are different. however I just cant seem to get my head around i the difference between them. Hopefully that makes sense any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks Rhys c1_dosing.ACD
  19. Hello All, I'm completely new to the motion control systems and I'm interested in learning servo programming and motion control. I was trying to find a good resource that I can start learning from A-Z, but I couldn't find any. I have a demo kit with compactlogix processor and two kinetix 6500 drives with servo motors. What is the best way to learn it. If you guys have any resources or basic sample program please help me. Any learning material would be helpful. Thank You All
  20. I have a Mitsubishi servo Pak #MR-J3-40B with an error 25 and 95 flashing. Could not find any help on the web or in the manual. Any help appreciated.
  21. hi, im student im trying to make a position control with the misubishi serie of servos, i have 2 mr-j2s-20a and 1 fx2n-20gm i was reading the manual i didnt readed all yet, i wat to know if i can control the position with a fx2n plc and if someone can send me a example of a code using it. thx for your attention
  22. I have been programming Omron plc's for a while but have not used any servo drives. I have customer who is free issuing the following equipment for a project he wants programmed.: cj1m cpu21, r88d-gt04h, r88d-gt08h, r88m-g40030h, r88m-g7503h-s2. The small drive is connected to a simple ball screw moving a stop. The second drive is connected through a gear box and chain drive full details not known to date. I have read the cj1 manuals and will be generally using pls2 commands for the position movements. Are the drives plug and play? If I connect the drives leaving the parameters as out of the box defaults should the drives operate using the pls2 command. In this condition I assume it is 10000 pulses per rev of motor. I can scale positions with maths in Plc and send the required pulses. Any guidance appreciated to confirm I am on the write track. I assume I could also use the electronic gearing parameters. Any examples using 5mm ball screw!
  23. Hello Dears, I am studying to control position via Mitsubishi device Now, I have Q172 CPUN and MR-J2M(MelServo) to control position. But, I didn't find manual that explain command and parameter to do it and it has the example to do it. who have experience to control position, pls help me to overview it. Thanks so much!
  24. Hi... i want to ask about QD75D4, how to change rotation direction in positiont data ? If position data number 1 is CCW and position data number 2 is CW. I try give value 100 (hope run CCW) and -100 (hope run CW) on posiition length but not respond. Parameter axis #1 Control system = 2:INC linear axis Any setting mistakes ? Thank you
  25. Is it possible to read (and maybe write) the software limit values of a G5 servo from NJ code? It appears that PDO entry 607D would allow this, but how can I read/write to it? I don't seem able to map that entry to I/O. Thanks.
