Hi everyone, I'm encountering a timeout issue when connecting Lenze i550 drives to a ControlLogix PLC via a 1756-ENBT module. The drives function perfectly when connected directly to the PLC’s Ethernet port, but the issue arises when using the ENBT module. Setup: Controller: 1756-L81E ControlLogix 1756-ENBT connected devices: 3x 1794-AENT (16 modules total, RPIs: 100–500 ms) 4x Lenze i550 drives (RPI: 300 ms) Switch: Moxa SDS-3016-2GTX-T (Managed) When I add a Lenze i550 drive to the ENBT module, I get a timeout error. I’ve already tried updating the firmware on the Lenze i550 drive, but it didn’t resolve the issue. Connecting the drive directly to the PLC’s Ethernet port works fine, which suggests the problem is with the ENBT module. I also tried adding the Moxa SDS-3016-2GTX-T managed switch to improve communication through the ENBT, but I’m not familiar with configuring managed switches. Does anyone have experience with this? Could changing any settings on the switch improve the communication? Additionally, I’m unsure if I’ve hit the ENBT module’s device limit. Has anyone faced a similar issue or have any suggestions on troubleshooting this? I’ll attach some network statistics for reference. Thanks for your help!

Hello everyone, I'm facing an issue while trying to establish communication between a 1756-L81E/B and a 1734-AENT/C. Despite multiple attempts, I keep encountering the following problems in RSLogix 5000: Module Fault: Code 16#0203 (Connection timed out) Warning: Module revision does not match the configured module Here are the firmware revisions for each device: 1756-L81E/B: Revision 32.011 1734-AENT/C: Revision 7.011 I suspect the issue might be related to revision compatibility between the devices. I’ve already tried updating the firmware on the 1734-AENT/C using ControlFlash, but the process failed at the end, and only partial blocks were uploaded. If anyone has experience with this issue or knows the correct process to successfully update the firmware on the 1734-AENT/C, I would greatly appreciate your guidance. Any advice on how to resolve the module fault and establish proper communication would also be very helpful. Thank you in advance for your support!

Hello everyone, I'm encountering difficulties communicating with a QUINT4-UPS/24DC/24DC/10/EIP unit. Here's what I've done so far: Set the rotary selector to PC Mode. The NET MOD LNK1 and LNK2 LEDs are off, indicating a potential configuration issue. The Alarm status LED is blinking, possibly due to the battery not being fully charged. Despite these steps, I'm unable to establish communication. Any advice on additional steps or configuration adjustments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!

Hello everyone, I'm currently facing an issue with a 4 to 20 signal reading on a 1734-IE4C, particularly with a 3-wire sensor (Seametric, S-Series). I've checked the sensor manual and noticed the following key points: The sensor power on the PLC is 5 - 24 VDC. The sensor power supply can provide at least 2 mA (100 mA is typical.) The sensor input on the PLC can accept a current-sinking device. This is my first experience with the 1734-IE4C, and while going through the manual, I couldn't find specific information about whether it accepts sinking devices. Additionally, I'm using the same power supply to energize both the sensor and the PLC. If anyone has experience with this module or any suggestions on how to troubleshoot an under-range alarm on the PLC, your insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance! sseries.pdf 1734-in032_-en-p.pdf

Thank you for your response and willingness to assist. This installation dates back to 2008, and I don't have access to the original wiring diagrams. However, I've created a wiring diagram based on my observations: We're using a GE PLC with the IC200ALG264E Analog Input Module. I'm seeking guidance as I'm not very experienced with this module. Attached are images of the GE module for reference: If there are specific details or questions needed to provide assistance, please let me know. Your insights would be greatly appreciated in resolving the Vegadis 82 and Vegaplus C21 issue in the 4-20 mA loop setup. Thank you for your support. -
Hello everyone, I'm installing a Vegadis 82 display and a Vegaplus C21 sensor in an industrial application, both connected to a 4-20 mA loop for level measurement. However, I'm encountering an issue: The Issue: When I connect both the display and the sensor to the 4-20 mA loop, the display doesn't activate. I tested them individually with a 24V external power supply, and they work fine. Background: We had previously used an Endress+Hauser FMU90, but it frequently provided inaccurate readings and isolated between 0 and a specific value. So, we switched to the Vegadis 82 and Vegaplus C21. My Questions: Any ideas on why the Vegadis 82 isn't energizing in the 4-20 mA loop? Are there specific configuration settings or adjustments I need to make for this setup? Is it common for display units or sensors to need an external power supply in a 4-20 mA loop?

PLC Firmware Revision Compatibility Issue
LuisGonzalez replied to LuisGonzalez's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
In this case, I'd like to inquire about the safety of downgrading the firmware. If I proceed with the firmware update (downgrade), is there any risk of losing the program that is currently stored in the controller? I want to ensure that the program remains intact during this process. Thank you very much -
Hello everyone, I'm facing an issue while trying to go online with a PLC. The firmware revision of the controller is 34.011, but the offline project I have is showing a firmware revision of 33.xx. Due to this mismatch, I'm unable to establish a connection. I'm relatively new to this company and recently learned that the program on my computer may have been modified by a contractor company, which might explain the version difference. I suspect they may have used a higher version of RsLogix when making the changes. I'm looking for guidance on how to proceed in this situation. Is there a way to update the offline project's firmware revision to match the controller's firmware revision? Or is there another solution to resolve this compatibility issue? Any help or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello everyone I'm reaching out to seek your insights and expertise regarding a challenge I'm facing with a recently acquired plant. The plant utilizes a MicroLogix 1200 PLC to control a HighService water system, and I'm encountering difficulties in establishing communication with the PLC and retrieving its program. Here's the current situation: The MicroLogix 1200 PLC is equipped with a serial port for communication, and I'm attempting to connect it to my Windows 10 computer. Despite trying different USB-to-Serial adapters, including the Prolific PL230GT, I haven't been successful in establishing a reliable connection. I have thoroughly checked the cabling, switch settings, and even disabled the firewall, but the issue persists. I have also attempted to auto-configure the connection using RSLinx, but with no success. During my investigation, I came across information about a Communications toggle button located on the processor of the MicroLogix 1200 PLC. The datasheet states that this button allows switching between user-defined communication configuration and default communications mode on Channel 0. The Default Communications (DCOMM) LED indicates when the controller is in the default communications mode. In light of this, I have the following questions: Could the use of the Communications toggle button have any impact on establishing communication with the MicroLogix 1200 PLC? Should I consider toggling the Communications toggle button to potentially reset the communication settings to default values? Are there any precautions or considerations I should be aware of when using the Communications toggle button? I kindly request your insights, suggestions, or experiences related to the use of the Communications toggle button and its potential relevance to resolving the communication issues I'm encountering with the MicroLogix 1200 PLC.
